Joe McGeown graduated from Queens University in 1981 with an honours degree in Law. Having completed his apprenticeship in his native Omagh, Joe joined the firm in 1984 and began work in the firm’s busy residential and commercial conveyancing department. Over the course of the following years, Joe was involved in a wide range of work including property litigation, estates and estate planning. Throughout his time at the practice, Joe has been actively involved in the firm’s extensive criminal practice, both in relation to attendance on behalf of clients at police stations and in representation at Court.
Joe became a partner in the firm in 1990 and was the senior partner of the practice from 2003 until March 2014.
Joe leads the wide-ranging commercial and property litigation work undertaken by the practice. The firm represents a stellar selection of commercial clients who are engaged in a diverse and extensive range of local and international businesses. Joe has advised in relation to many significant and high-value transactions involving joint venture agreements, shareholder and partnership agreements and business disposals and acquisitions. Joe assists both Landlords and Tenants with advice on commercial and residential property, leases and tenancy problems generally.
