Joanne completed her Law Degree at Queen’s University, Belfast, graduating in 2007 with Honours. She commenced employment as a Paralegal with Kennedy, Hughes and Co Solicitors and in 2008 began her apprenticeship as a Trainee Solicitor. She graduated from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies with Distinction in June 2010 and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in September 2010. Whilst a student at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Joanne was awarded the Pat Finucane prize and the Denis Kearney Memorial prize.

Following her admission onto the Roll of Solicitors, Joanne continued to work in general practice with Patrick Hughes Solicitor in Dungannon, with particular focus on family law, criminal law and civil litigation. Joanne then joined the team at John J McNally and Co. Solicitors in January 2016. She now specialises in all areas of Family Law, including proceedings under the Children (NI) Order 1995 such as Residence, Contact and Care Order proceedings, as well as Matrimonial matters including Separation, Divorce and Ancillary Relief proceedings. Joanne also regularly deals with applications for Non Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders. Joanne is an accredited member of the Law Society of Northern Ireland’s Children Order Panel. Membership of this panel is a reflection of her expertise in the area of children’s law.
