Aileen graduated with honours from Queen’s University, Belfast in 2000. She travelled and worked in Toronto and New York before returning to complete her professional studies at the College of Law in Chester. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales in 2004 and in Northern Ireland in February 2005. Since qualifying as a solicitor, Aileen has specialised in civil litigation acting on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. She has considerable experience in employers’ liability, public liability, road traffic claims, ejectment proceedings, and civil injunctions under the Protection from Harassment Act. Aileen currently serves as a representative on the Civil Liaison Committee for the Division of Londonderry and is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

Aileen is also experienced in the field of land law, dealing primarily with adverse possession applications and boundary disputes. In addition, she advises in both contested and non-contested debt recovery actions and has successfully represented both employee and employer clients in Tribunal proceedings for unfair dismissal, disability discrimination, sex discrimination and sexual orientation discrimination

In May 2011, Aileen was admitted to the College of Notaries Northern Ireland as a Notary Public. As one of only 34 Notaries public serving Northern Ireland as a whole and the only Notary Public in the South Derry area, this has been a welcome addition to the range of services offered through the offices of John J McNally and Co..
